Gutter repair and installation in Roseville, CA

Roseville is tile roofs, big two-story stucco homes, and valley oaks the developers were required to leave standing. All three make gutters harder than they look, and all three are why we're out here most weeks in the fall.

Gutters in Roseville

Roseville built out fast from the late 1980s on, and the gutters went up with the houses. Highland Reserve, Diamond Oaks, Woodcreek Oaks and Stoneridge are 1990s and early-2000s; Westpark, Fiddyment Farm and the newer neighborhoods off Blue Oaks are 2005 onward. Almost all of it is stucco with concrete S-tile or flat tile roofs, and most of the gutters were hung by the builder's sub at shingle height, tight to the fascia, behind the line of water coming off the tile. That's why so many Roseville homeowners tell us their gutters "don't work in a real storm" even when they're clean.

The older part of town — Cirby, the streets around Royer Park, Sierra Gardens — is 1950s–70s with composition roofs, mature trees and original gutters, so the work there looks more like Carmichael: reseal, re-hang, replace.

Sun City Roseville and the Del Webb neighborhoods have their own pattern: single-story tile homes on small lots, a lot of them with gutters only over the entry and patio, and owners who don't want to be on a ladder. Cleaning and guard work is most of what we do there.

The oaks

Roseville's tree ordinance kept the valley oaks and blue oaks in the newer subdivisions, which is good for the neighborhood and hard on gutters. An oak drops small leaves in fall, acorns in October and November, and catkins in April, and a 6-inch gutter under one fills faster than any 5-inch anywhere else in the region. Stainless micro-mesh is the guard that handles catkins; screens don't. Gutter repair Roseville CA homeowners call for under the oaks is often a re-hang: the weight of wet acorns and leaves has pulled the hangers out.

The soil

Placer County hardpan sits a foot or two under much of Roseville. Water doesn't soak away; it sits. A downspout dumping at the slab keeps the ground wet against the foundation for the whole rain season, and on the older raised-foundation homes near downtown it ends up in the crawl space. Every job here gets extensions to at least four feet, or a connection to the yard drain the builder ran to the street if it's still clear.

HOA note

Most Roseville communities have architectural guidelines that cover gutter color. We match trim or stucco from the manufacturer's chart and can send the spec sheet to your committee. Westpark and Fiddyment Farm ask most often; it's one page and has never been a problem.

Questions we get asked

Do you charge extra to come to Roseville?

No. Roseville, Rocklin and Granite Bay are inside the standard service area, and pricing matches Sacramento: repairs $175–$700, seamless installation $11–$19 per foot plus $2–$4 for tile-roof hangers. Estimates are free and good for 30 days.

My Roseville gutters are clean but water pours over them in storms. Why?

Almost always because they're hung at shingle height on a tile roof — behind the stream coming off the tile overhang. A re-hang lower and forward on long-reach hangers fixes it; on a 40-foot run that's about $300–$550. A cleaning or a reseal won't change it.

Can you match my HOA's required gutter color?

Yes. We carry the manufacturer's chart with 25-plus baked-on finishes, match to your trim or stucco, and will send the spec sheet to your architectural committee before the work is scheduled.
